Intestinal worms in dogs

Dogs can be infected with Roundworm, Hookworm, Whipworm and Tapeworm, all of which can cause severe damage to the digestive system. In young pups they can be fatal. They also can be a threat to you and your children. Common sense hygiene and regular worming can prevent this problem.
Worm pups fortnightly at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks. Then monthly till 6 months old.
Worm adults every 3 months in the dry season or every 2 months from December to May. We recommend Drontal or alternatively Sentinel/Interceptor or Advocate+Droncit

Worm kittens fortnightly at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks.
Then monthly till 6 months old.
Worm adults every three months.
We recommend 1/2 Milbemax and 1 1/2 Tapeworm tablets/4kg of cat or alternatively monthly Advocate and 2 Tapeworm tablets every 3 months.

Spirometra erinacei (Gecko Tapeworm)

The tapeworm component of cat worming paste is not sufficient to kill the tapeworm called Spirometra Erinacei that cats contract from the ingestion of lizards and geckos. These worms are unique to Coastal areas north of Sydney. The tablets are bitter and hard to administer so we produce a capsule containing all the required tablets.  Many people struggle to worm their cat and prefer to bring your cat to us every 3 months and let us give the tablets!
