Euthanasia

As our pets get old, or are sick or injured, sometimes we need to make a decision to end their life humanely to prevent suffering.

Euthanasia is a quick and painless procedure which involves giving pets an anaesthetic overdose to stop their heart and end their life.

It is often the preferred choice with animals with severe disease or poor quality of life.   Sometimes pets are euthanased because owners cannot care for them or they have become aggressive.

Often pet owners want to discuss with their vet options for treatment and the right time to euthanase their pet.  We can also arrange home euthanasia if preferred.

Cremation and burial

Following euthanasia, you can either take your pet's remains home with you if you have somewhere to bury them or we can organise disposal.  We can organise either cremation and pet funeral services within Cairns, which are organised by very high quality service providers such as Possum Ridge Pet Cremation and The Green Funeral.
